Community Support

“Community is key to recovery – to have a group of people around you who see you as you are and understand you and can enter into your story with you is critical to recovery.” – Daniel Whitehead, CEO of Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries

Support Group: Support Groups are a great way for participants to share their experiences and gain support from other attendees. Support Groups are designed to target specific topics. For example, some of the Support Groups that meet locally are GriefShare, Divorce Care, Al Anon, Overeaters Anonymous, Women’s Cancer Support, and Pregnancy and Infant Loss.

You are not alone. You don’t have to navigate challenges on your own. We would love to help you find the right Support Group for your needs.

Educational Workshops and Training: We conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance mental health awareness and equip community members with tools for emotional well-being. Check out our weekly free exercise classes and other upcoming events here.

Financial Aid Program: We have a Financial Aid Program that provides financial assistance to ensure access to mental health services for those in need. Please reach out if you would like to apply for financial assistance.

Mental Health Readiness Training

Historically, research shows that many individuals facing mental health challenges turn first to clergy or faith leaders. Yet most faith organizations are not equipped to respond in ways that are helpful—and may unintentionally cause harm. Finding Hope Wellness Center developed the Mental Health Readiness Training (MHRT) to close this gap. MHRT equips both clergy and lay leaders with the knowledge, language, and tools to compassionately and competently respond to mental health needs, without replacing clinical care.

Our training is intentionally non-clinical and takes place in trusted, accessible community-based spaces, ensuring that care remains culturally relevant and relationship-centered. Through a cohort model, participating faith communities work collaboratively, learn from each other, and develop strategies that reflect their racial, cultural, and socioeconomic contexts over a 12-18 month period.
